Harford County is hometown of Hall of Famer Cal Ripken Jr. The Ironbirds, a class-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles, have entertained sold-out crowds since its opening in 2002. The Ripken campus also hosts the Ripken Baseball Youth Academy and the internationally televised Ripken World Series.
